NSAR Congratulates Apprentice of the Year Winner

NSAR is excited to announce the winner of its Apprentice of the Year competition, a national initiative to provide train operators with an opportunity to celebrate success within their apprenticeship programmes and showcase the outstanding achievements of their rail apprentices.

Congratulations to winner Jackir Ahmed, Level 4 Passenger Transport Operations Manager.

Congratulations to winner Dean Rigby, Level 2 Passenger Transport Operative

Candidates were assessed on their achievement within their apprenticeship programme, additional professional development and wider organisational contributions such as customer excellence, company values and peer support.

Clare Shaw, Jackir’s manager, says “There is not one person who says a bad word about Jackir, he is a real team player who wants to succeed… I know he is well respected, will go over and above to help anyone in need and provides value to all the workshop days he attends. He has been a pleasure to manage and no task is too much for him, he gets on with his job to a very high standard and he will go far in this business.”

NSAR Chief Executive Neil Robertson comments “Apprentices are vital to the rail workforce – so it’s important to celebrate their hard work and success. Congratulations to Jackir.”
