It’s time again to complete NSAR’s Rail Workforce Survey. Each year, railway organisations across the industry contribute by submitting their workforce data. NSAR collates this information to produce a workforce profile providing approximately 95% coverage across the sector including the supply chain.
The survey enables NSAR to build the most complete and accurate representation of the UK rail workforce – which in turn helps the industry and its organisations set direction. There will be a focus in the 2024 survey on collecting data on apprenticeships, to help inform the industry-wide effort to increase apprentice numbers.

How to get involved
Linked below is a spreadsheet data template. We request that you complete it for all members of your workforce employed in rail industry activities. Equally, a direct download from your employee database system covering the core data fields would be perfectly fine. Survey responses are completely anonymised and follow strict GDPR regulations*.
