For Colleges and ITP’s

As an FE College or training provider, you want your students to succeed and progress to a worthwhile and rewarding career. A strategic link with the UK rail industry will provide an incentive for students to come to your College or training provision to study and in return, the rail industry has access to that talent pool. UK rail sector also includes: Leadership & Management, IT, Customer Service, Finance and much more. The absence of an engineering department will not preclude an FE College or training provider becoming a select partner.

Advantages for FE Colleges and training providers to engage with the UK rail industry:

  • Specialise in a fast-growing, niche, industry

  • Select group of FE Colleges and training providers covering the UK, working with owners of specialist UK rail training resources, through the Training Alliance, to form a professional supply chain to deliver rail apprenticeships across the UK

  • Promote careers in rail to all students; rail is relatively unknown as career and offers great opportunities

  • Excellent labour market information available from NSAR

  • Potential market of 2000 Level 2 and 3 apprenticeships across the UK

  • Highest level funding for Level 2 and Level 3 Rail Engineering apprenticeships

  • Opportunities to attract full-time students
