Yesterday NSAR attended day one of the RIA’s Award-winning Annual Conference which took place at the Hilton London Bankside. The event brings together RIA members, clients, industry leaders, influencers, international guests and policymakers for informative discussions and networking.
On the first day of the conference key rail industry figures were in attendance including Paul Clifton (BBC Transport Correspondent), Mark Watts (Chief Executive of UKTIE), Barry White (Chief Executive for Transport for the North), Caroline Murdoch (Director of Corporate Communications at Network Rail), John Larkinson (Chief Executive of ORR) and many more.
NSAR’s Senior Analyst Michelle Russell spoke at a panel discussion entitled “What will it take to close the skills gap & improve diversity in rail?” and highlighted the Routes into Rail initiative, as well as the importance of apprenticeships and strategic workforce planning. There was also an update on the Rail Sector Deal focusing on what has been achieved to date.
