Yesterday NSAR attended the Train Driver Academy Conference which took place at the Congress Centre, London. The event celebrated the launch of the Train Drivers Academy and its goal to ensure that trainees receive a consistent, inclusive and high quality learning experience, quality assured by the Level 3 Apprenticeship Framework.
Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson delivered a talk on the importance of Diversity & Inclusion in rail and a workshop reflected this topic. Other workshops covered recruitment and training.
Alongside key industry figures Kirsty Derry (HR Director EMT & Chair of Train Driver Academy Board) and Mick Whelan (ASLEF General Secretary), other speakers included:
- Dalvinder Rai (National Equality & Diversity Advisor at the Asian Fire Service Association)
- Nicola Green (Legal Director of Employment at Capsticks Solicitors LLP)
